Despite being surrounded by wildfires in 2015, the city center of Riverside remained untouched by fire. The two largest of the 2015 fires, the Limebelt Fire and the Tunk Block Fire, burned on either side of the city. The Limebelt Fire burned to the west, while the Tunk Block Fire burned to the east. Many homes on the outskirts of town were lost, but the town itself was lucky.
